How do I fix 'unable to verify update' error for iPadOS 17.7.7?

Delete the iOS update, and re-download it, and try again.

Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Show All, and find and delete the update

And if there is a “coffee shop” VPN app around, remove it, restart, and try again.

The iPadOS 17.7.7 update has a number of significant issues. You will find many recent discussion threads within this Support Community on this topic.

Apple has since withdrawn this update pending release of a fix. At the time of writing, for those that have not already updated to this version, the iPadOS 17.7.7 update is no longer available for installation. For those users that have updated to iPadOS 17.7.7, release of a fix for known issues is anticipated soon - although Apple have not provided an indication of when this will be available.

At this time, patience is recommended.
