MacBook Air m4 battery drains too fast

I switched from my M2 to the M4 about a week ago and noticed the battery is draining way too fast—around 1–2% every 5 minutes under light use, about 15% per hour. I read that it might be due to indexing and calibration. I’ve been using it actively all week, but the issue still persists.

The screenshot shows the power consumption. At this rate, the battery loses roughly 12% per hour.

Is this a defect, or should I wait a bit longer?

Same thing is happening to me. Brand new Air M4 and the battery is draining like crazy. I have no non-native apps installed; right out the box I'm getting this behavior. I have looked around in other forums and it seems it's possibly an iCloud issue? I've been doing trial and error things, even did a full reset. no dice. I turned off many of the applications syncing to iCloud. no dice. I use Pages and ocassionlly will open a safari window. that shouldn't be draining the battery at the rate it's draining. I have to charge this thing twice a day. this HAS to be stressing the battery out. Crazy thing is this M4 replaced a brand new M3 Air that was having same issue. So, I think it's iCloud? That's the only thing it could be?
