Will Quickbooks 2019 run on M4 chip running Sequoia and Rosetta2?

I have Quickbooks 2019 on CD with license key. Can I run this on a MacBook Pro M4 with OS 15.3.1 (Sequoia) via Rosetta 2? I have loaded it on my HD. But when I try to run it I get the message: "Quickbook 2019 quit unexpectedly." Is there a way around this and run it on Rosetta directly?

You're welcome. 🙂

To be fair to dialabrain, his answer was technically correct. There is indeed no way to get that old version from the CD to run, six major OS releases later. And if it weren't for the ability to get the last release from Intuit, you'd be in a Catch-22 where it would work if you could run the update function, but you can't do that when it keeps crashing.

Here's something to throw out as a future possibility. I'm retired, but I still use QB 2019 to invoice projects I do now and then. But, it's an Intel only version. There's no way to know when, but Apple will likely drop Rosetta 2 at some point and all apps will be required to be native, Silicon compatible.

I will not pay for another desktop version, and I most definitely will never pay for a subscription version of QB. However, there's completely free, Silicon native accounting software available. Even the server version is free.

It didn't take me long to set up state taxes, printed invoice layout, sales items, chart of accounts, bank info and a couple of customers. For a small business, it covers most everything you would need. Here are all of the settings you can add/use.

Downsides? Yes, there are some things lacking. Like, no check register. Customer data fields have nowhere to put a phone number. I ended up putting them in the Delivery Address field so they wouldn't appear on an invoice.

Otherwise, most everything you would use is there.
