Should I set my MacBook Pro fans to 100% all the time or vary speeds for longevity?
On my 2023 MBP 16 I run BOINC & FHA while doing my usual computer work...no audio/video editing or AI . I also run a 3rd party fan manager app which give me the option to have the fans run at 100% all the time or vary the speeds as it sees fit.
When I have the app auto-adjust the fan speed the MBP will get quite warm before the fans cut in but if I have the fans run 100% all the time I worry about the fan's pre-maturely failing.
Is my concern valid or should I just set them to max & forget it?
