A1197 Wireless Mighty Mouse driver compatibility issue on Windows 11 with Boot Camp support software
This is for using A1197 wireless Mighty Mouse on a windows 11 pro 64 bit.
Wired Mighty Mouse A1152 just worked (pointing, clicking, scrolling) on the same windows machine when plugged in -- an Apple Mighty Mouse driver from Microsoft dated 6/21/2006, version 10.0.2100.1150, was automatically installed. This seems to verify the windows machine except its bluetooth.
The A1197 is tested ok for moving the pointers or clicking when connected to an android phone on the first try (scrolling does not seem to work), without asking for a bluetooth PIN. This seems verify the mouse itself.
For using A1197, I ran Boot Camp Support Software 5.1.5769 applewirelessmouse64.exe on the windows machine.
When using control panel to add the A1197, with the PIN code empty, a bluetooth device with the mouse's name (driver from microsoft 6/21/2006), then a second later a HID-compliant mouse (driver from microsoft 6/21/2006, same version and files as the driver used for the A1152) showed up in the device manager, but the mouse is not working. The mouse device (sometimes the bluetooth device also) would disappear on its own from the device manager (also from the control panel when the bluetooth device is gone).
It looks like the mouse device driver is not the intended one, thus I tried to update the mouse driver from file location C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\applebmt64.inf_amd64_6d97d6264f077f40 which was created by applewirelessmouse64.exe, and I got a pop up with the following:
"the folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device.
If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with windows for x64-based systems."
Double click on the applebmt64.inf file in this location triggered a installation with no error, but seems made no difference.
The beginning part of the applebmt64.inf file in this location looks ok:

Does a1197 need a different bluetooth driver? The connection was through a bluetooth dongle marked with "CSR 4.0" plugged into one of the USB ports of the windows machine.
