Why can't I see large files in Documents on my Mac running macOS Sequoia?

Unfortunately, Macos does not show large files in Settings - General - Storage - Documents. Is there anyone experience the same thing or solve this issue?

Finder has some excellent tools for searching that a lot of people seem to be unaware of.

You can basically search for anything.

For example, you can search for files bigger than a certain size - which seems to have been your question - very easily. Also, any search that you may want to repeat later can saved as a smart folder.

Here is an example:

  • press Command-F and set your search like this; of course, you can search starting with any folder you like (I started this on the Desktop), or search the whole Mac (just click "This Mac")

You can combine a huge number of criteria to set the search as you want it (file name, extension, kind of file (image, audio, etc), date of creation or modification, and so on and so on. You can use Boolean logic such this and that but not such and such, etc....

You should never use the storage displays for anything. They are merely a source of confusion and very little help. If you’re looking to find large files, taking up space, use a third-party tool like GrandPerspective

There is no such listing in Settings - General - Storage - Documents

Use >> Finder >> Setting >> Sidebar

In my case, Documents are listed as part of iCloud

System Setting >> General >> Storage

No Documents listings

It did not work. I located all of my documents in the Desktop.

OP wrote " Settings - General - Storage - Documents. "

That question was answered

As to the actually physical location of the Documents " Large or Small "

You may consider some of the very good options provided by @Barney-15E and / or @ Luis Sequeira1

What issue is that ?

Reading all the suggestion including my own

From this perspective, there have been several suggestions that should work

That is, if there is not some other objective yet to be declared

Sticking to only Technical Issue that is
