How can I stop the notification summary on my Apple Watch?

After the most recent update, there is a notification summary screen that keeps popping up on my watch. I want ti disable this - as I have selected the watch face that I want, and that is the face that should pop up when I lift my watch. It's super annoying to have to click out of the notification summary screen. I have this disabled on phone and watch, but it's still happening. Anyone have any ideas for how to stop this? Thanks in advance!

If not, the first (and simplest) thing to try if something isn’t working right is to restart your Apple Watch and its paired iPhone. If necessary (device not responding), try a forced restart. Both methods can be found here:

If that doesn't help, the next steps would be to unpair and pair your watch again and restore from the backup just created. This should result in no loss of data. It deletes all temp and corrupted files and re-indexes the file system.
