I cannot stop texts from appearing on my laptop. I do not want texts forwarded to my laptop.
Text forwarding is turned off on the phone
iCloud for messages is disabled on the laptop.
This is a new problem since upgrade to Sequoia 15.5

Not all messages are "text." Some are iMessage and they will go to any device logged into iMessages.
Check Messages Settings > iMessage and Sign Out of your Apple account. Signing out should disable both iMessage and SMS (text) messages.
