Missing "Send Later" option in Messages app on my iPhone and Mac

iOS18.5 and Sequoia 15.5. "Send later" NOT AVAILABLE in messages on either my iPhone or Mac. Strange. I used it once, but now that option has disappeared. Where did it go? How do I get it back? Oh, there was a post that suggested that you needed to set "Do Not Disturb" to allow this option. Did that. Didn't work.

Ha ha. I figured it out. I was doing a "Send Later" test by texting myself. When I try to do that, "Send Later" isn't offered. When I set up to text ANYONE else, the Send Later option appears. Appears to be the same for Sequoia, which is why the option seemed to come and go as I set up texts to different people. Kinda nuts. Have to assume that someone at Apple is laughing their keister off. Presumably, the idea is that you'd NEVER want to schedule a text to yourself, since you already see it.

This has been noted - Unable to text MYSELF a “send later” text… - Apple Community, wherin nobody figured it out.

You know, if I want to test out a function like that, I don't want to have to do it by blasting someone else with a test text. Sorry, sorry, ignore this text. I was just playing around! This is positively nuts that Apple won't let you try the functionality out on yourself, without bothering anyone else. Have to wonder what else Apple won't let you do to yourself.

I should add that being able to schedule a text to yourself can be used like an alarm clock. The Apple clock is stupid, in that you can only schedule things THAT DAY. I can't use it to set an alarm for myself 25 hours hence. But if I could schedule a text to myself, beep! I can notify myself of an event that doesn't happen to be today. This is another example of Apple being too smart for their own good.
