Why is my iPhone 16e battery draining so fast with minimal use?

I have a month old Iphone 16e, (this is my 4th Iphone) and this is draining much faster than any of my previous phones.

for example, I wake at 6.30 with the phone at 100%. 15 min just reading FB posts , checking the latest 10 overnight emails. quick check of the weather, 2 messenger messages and the phone is down to 88%

as i'm not a heavy user, this seems quite excessive to me

any thoughts ?

Delete FB/Messenger and compare your results. Apple shows you which apps are consuming your battery in settings so you know which ones they are and can make that choice yourself. The developer of apps can use Background Processes and additional activity that may use significantly more battery. Meta apps are known for building your Social Graph from data collected about you to sell to advertisers and will use you battery to do that. Check the Privacy Page for FB in the App Store, and you will see what kind of data FB is using and you may find it very informative..

  • Contact Info including Physical Address, Email Addresses, Name, and Phone Numbers of not only you, but your other Contacts.
  • Purchase History
  • Financial Info
  • Location including Precise Location and Course Location
  • User Content including Photos, Videos, and Gameplay
  • Search History
  • Browsing History
  • Usage Data including Product Interaction and Advertising Data
  • Health & Fitness

Here are a couple of articles that detail this Facebook problem and it also affects Android devices, so it is not device specific. Facebook has had 12 updates in just the last month, so comparing to past phones is irrelevant as the operations of the app changes depending on the update.

Troubleshooting a Draining iPhone Battery:

Unfortunately, there is no way to determine why, nor when, the Battery Health decreased. Apple recommends you get a new battery, when the Battery Health reaches 80% or less. So, you can get a new battery, but you're find, for now. You might want to see if you can get AppleCare for your iPhone, to drop down prices for battery replacements. To find out if you have AppleCare(or the choice to get it), find the Serial Number of your iPhone, and then enter it here: https://checkcoverage.apple.com

Where to get a New Battery:

Getting a New iPhone Battery:

Contact Apple, and setup a Genius Bar Appointment or see an AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) in your local area. Be wary as to where you get this item, ask you may get an error of an ungenuine battery. So, to avoid this continual message, it is best to have an Apple or an AASP replace the battery. So, where to get a new battery:

A. Apple Contact Info:

B. Contact an AASP:

  1. Go Here: Find Locations - Apple Authorized Reseller
  2. Click: Service & Support
  3. Enter: your location information
  4. See: if there is an AASP nearby
  5. Contact: an AASP that shows up, and find out more about the services that they offer to fix the battery
