My desktop icons keep moving around from where I place them upon a restart or refresh of desktop. Running a new MacMini. No pattern as to where the icons end up on screen.

Thanks all for the help. Appears suggestion of widening grid spacing was what I needed to change. Did this and icons have now appeared stable for couple of days now.
Hope this might help others who have this same trouble.
You will need to adjust the grid spacing and icon size with the "sort by" off then after use "snap to grid" to lock in. You may have to play with the size settings to get the location you want.
My "recipe"
• click on blank area of desktop and select all (command A)
• then click the view menu and sort by None
• then move your items to where you want them
• then select all and click the view menu and choose "snap to grid" if you want this option where you will have to play with grid spacing or skip this item
• After selecting all click on view menu and "clean up"
•click anywhere on blank area of desktop to get back to a desktop where all the items are not selected.

Hmm... try decreasing the Icon size.
Then do a Clean Up By > Kind
Before sorting on name or whatever, did you highlight one icon Then do Select All.. CMD+a ?
I've tried the suggestions provided me with no success. Thank you for your efforts. Icons continue to shift. Will include screenshot of what am experiencing. Trying to get them to stick above icon named "Data".
