Various Apple support articles answer many product user questions.

Here's a few more, these offer similar ideas; & some go further too.

How to unlock your iPhone for use with a different carrier - Apple Support

"Unlocking your iPhone means that you can use it with different carriers."

"To contact your carrier and unlock your iPhone, use these steps. You can

find out if your iPhone is locked by going to Settings > General > About. - IF

"No SIM restrictions" appears next to Carrier Lock, your iPhone is unlocked."

Apple can't unlock your iPhone for use with a different carrier. Only your

current carrier can unlock your iPhone. (This article covers most issues.)

"If you have a carrier lock on your iPhone, it means you can only use the iPhone

Contact your Carrier.. Only your carrier can unlock your iPhone.

Your local ISP & Carrier may be the same company in your area.

An iPhone SE first-edition can use iOS 15.8.4 (iOS 15.x) no higher.

This SE model & iOS are like mine uses. When I upgrade to newer

iPhone and try to use later iOS, these factors will apply to me, too.

Other later model iPhones, could require different series Sim cards.

More recent iPhones evolved, in some regions may need an E-SIM.
