i was outside today watching YouTube and later noticed my battery had drained a to after a couple hours and was wondering if this is a normal amount of battery drain. I was not connected to WiFi but had good cell service

So your iPhone dropped ~60% in ~9 hours? I can’t say that I see anything unusual about that, if I’m being honest. But continue to monitor the battery and if you see any abnormal decline in the battery life, consider taking the device to an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) to have it examined:

But over the course of 3 hours my battery dropped about 50 percent just watching YouTube outside. That doesn’t seem normal but I could be wrong
