Invalid serial number - copied from 'About This Mac'

Hey,

I want to get support from Apple about a problem I'm facing with my Macbook (using https://getsupport.apple.com/products/choose) and there are 2 problems:

  1. It doesn't see my email logged in devices (even though I am logged in both on mac and iphone).
  2. When I copy and paste serial number (from About This Mac) it says "Please enter a valid serial number".

Can someone from support help?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 15.5

Did you buy this Mac new or used or refurbished?

From Apple or some other AASP (Apple authorized service provider) ?

your SN should match from the Terminal.app copy and paste:

/Volumes/Macintosh\ HD/usr/sbin/system_profiler SPHardwareDataType

if Apple support requires a serial number, and they throw you out because yours is not good enough, Customer Service is now provided exclusively by the agents who work for the Apple Online Store:

Apple Online Store

Apple.com is a convenient place to purchase Apple products and accessories from Apple and other manufacturers. You can buy online or call 1-800-MY-APPLE(1-800-692-7753).
