How to search completed items in Reminders on iPhone?

You used to be able to use the search feature on Reminders to find completed items, like on a grocery list. That gratis no longer working. Anyone got a fix?

iOS 18 Reminders search fails to find many completed items. When Searching for some items in the iOS 18 Reminders app, often completed items are not found using the Search function. Going to the list where the item should be, showing completed items, and manually scrolling through down through the completed reminders will locate it. By “uncompleting" the target item, search will find it. This bug has happened before in other major updates and is eventually fixed; meanwhile, however, it’s a big time-wasting nuisance!

I can find completed reminders on my iPhone (iOS 18.5). You may need to refresh the search index.

Go to Settings > Apps > Reminders > Search, turn off the 2 settings there, restart your iPhone and turn the settings back on. Wait a few minutes for the search index to be rebuilt.
