unable to open read.amazon.com or read.amazon.co.uk or read.amazon.nl on ipad 9.3.5 using safari

I need to read my kindle books. the kindel app worked perfectly, but then I had to reinstall the latest software allowed on my device, which is 9.3.5. Since then I can not load the kindle app. I cannot understand why a perfectly working kindle app which worked flawlessly on ios 9.3.5, could just not be available anymore. I certainly cannot afford the dollars to buy a new ipad, so I feel I should either approach apple of amazon to get my money back for this device AND for the lots of dollars I paid for kindle books through the years, which I cannot get access to anymore

I feel as a consumer I have some rights: If I bought something, surely I should be able to use it?

iPad 2, iOS 9

The Kindle application that you originally installed from the Mac App Store onto iOS 9.3.5 was built for that operating system. That Kindle application from that time frame has since been replaced by a current version of the Kindle application that requires at minimum, iOS 16, or iPadOS 16 and that is the explanation for why you cannot reinstall the Kindle application onto iOS 9.3.5 now.

Internet security has drammatically improved since the iOS 9.3.5 days and many websites would reject the older security protocols that Safari on iOS 9.3.5 supports. No one is supporting a new browser version that will install on iOS 9.3.5.

Your consumer right is to purchase a newer Apple (or Android) device that supports your continued viewing of your kindle books.
