How do I transfer my Time Machine backup to a new SSD?

I'm backing up my MacBook with 2 TB internal SSD onto a 2 TB external SSD. I want to transfer the existing backup to a 4 TB external SSD and make that the default backup drive.

Is there a specific process for transferring the backup file, or can I just drag in the Finder?

Thanks,

Robin

The implications where " oblique " or not remains the same

No.

Copying a Time Machine backup volume with anything other than the Finder is not supported (by us, nor Apple);

Thusly, the suggestion by my colleague @leroydouglas was to offer a an alternative which may or may not meet the user likings

Bottom-line

One can not longer Copy or Transfer the contents of a Time Machine Backup drive from one external drive to another

There is no obliqueness at all. It can no longer be done.
