Why can’t I listen to music by clicking spacebar anymore on my Mac Studio?

For years I've been previewing music files by simply clicking spacebar on the file and listening to the track. Now I have to restart my Mac Studio Apple M1 Ultra Sequoia 15.5 several times a day as this function stops working. This is driving me nuts. Anyone else experiencing this and have a solution?

Can't say I do. Tried all audio files but .oggs. Do you have the same peoblem if the files are in a folder other than the Desktop?

yeah. It's very strange. doesn't matter if files are on drives or desktop. at some random point that function just ceases to work. I restart the computer and everything is fine... until it isn't.
