I have two iPads, both running the latest iOS 18.5. When I am traveling and watch videos in the Apple TV app while in airplane mode, by full battery drains in 2 hrs and gets super hot. I have opened a ticket with Apple and they say they can’t find an issue. What’s weird is that it is happening on both my iPads. Anyone else know what’s going on?
So I have done a factory reset on both (erase all content and settings). I set them up as new devices and didn't set up Apple intelligence (thinking that could be the culprit). I get the expected battery life if I download one movie, but if I download a decent amount of content, like a couple seasons of a TV show, the battery issue comes back. This is very frustrating.....
I am finding it depends on how many video files you have downloaded. If you have 3 movies downloaded, it doesn't use a ton of battery life and works as expected. If you download, say 20, episodes of a TV show, the battery drains quickly and gets hot on airplane mode.
And the are both 1 TB models
