How do I share folders between a MacBook Pro M4 and a Linux Mint PC over Wi-Fi?

I've been trying to link my MacBook Pro M4 running Sequoia with a Linux mint computer via wifi in order to share folders.

It works on a 2014 Mac Book Pro but not with the new one. Can you help?

If the Linux and Mac are on the same network subnet, you could install a Virtual Network Computing (VNC) application on Linux that uses port 5900 and on the M4 MacBook Pro, use Apple's Screen Sharing application to make the VNC connection. It should then be a simple case of dragging and dropping files between the Linux Mint screen and your M4 Mac filesystem in either direction.

I use screen sharing on the Mac to display the screen from my 2020 Core i7 iMac on the 32-in display of my M4 Mac Mini Pro. Apple's Screen Sharing application is found in /System/Library/CoreServices/Applications and I simply dragged and dropped it on my Dock for easier access.

If you’re trying to do it through an ad hoc network, I don’t think quo has that feature anymore, or at least it is very difficult to implement. If you’re trying an ad hoc network, did you try to make the Linux machine the host?

if you are just connected to the same Wi-Fi access point on both computers and trying to use file sharing, how do you have that set up?
