Adobe keeps its software compatible with macOS by updating and fixing problems, maintaining compatibility with macOS as it is its duty to its users. That means new versions. So if you want to use Adobe software with an iMac M4 you’ll need to update your Adobe software. If you are unable or unwilling to do so then a modern Mac is not a solution. You’ll need to remain in the past with old hardware and old Adobe software indefinitely.

Sorry for the bad news. Time/hardware/software marches on.

Or to avoid current Adobe subscriptions with M4 Mac compatibility, you can evaluate Affinity Designer, Photo, and Publisher for free. Publisher can import InDesign files. There are fully functional free trial downloads available on the Buy page for the individual Affinity products, these products have been in the Mac App Store for years, cost very little, and are not subscription. Don't let the lower cost deceive about the power in these applications.
