I have tried everything but had important mails in DRAFTS folder and now cannot find them. Have exited mail, tried rebuilding mailbox, checked mailbox behaviors and filtering, checked icloud mail. THIS IS SERIOUSLY disturbing in an update without a prior warning!

How is the account configured? IMAP? POP3? Exchange?
is it possible to retrieve what was in my drafts folder in Mac Mail prior to upgrade to ventura 13.7.6 from a prior backup? How do I avoid this happening again? I rely on draft emails that I haven't send to edit and then send later.
My email provider is apple - icloud or icloud+ config is IMAP. The draft emails aren't in icloud on web either. Just vanished.
