Notifications are visible on my apple watch SE and on my Iphone 13 pro, but I get no more red dots on my IPhone as warning when a new message comes in. Is it possible to fix this? There is nothing wrong with the notification centre, but the red 1 at for example my whatsapp button is missing.

Do you have any Focuses enabled? Have you gone to Settings > Notifications > Select the apps you want badges and make sure Badges are turned on?

If you have any Focus configured and enabled, temporarily disable that, and check again.
