Its really not possible simply to backup my iPhone 13 pro max to external hard drive? On my MacBookPro M3 theres no enough free space fot this since phone has same volume as MacBook.

You may be able to get temporary relief by parking some files on cloud storage, but you need to understand -- this feature is addictive, and very difficult to undo. Over time, it also makes backups more complicated and take longer.
Consider obtaining an additional external drive, and moving big Libraries like photos, movies, or songs to the external drive.
Of course I can buy additional Cloud
Be aware that that iCloud is not meant for extra storage, it is for syncing data across Apple devices. If you put data in the cloud, then delete it from your phone, it will automatically delete it from your cloud as well.
Thanks guys for answers, but it doesnot help. Of course I can buy additional Cloud (using files since that will significally increase my mobilde data bills), or clean up my MacBook and free up necessary space, but it takes time to allways carry with me additional hdd for accessing files I need on MacBook - the reason I have one!
The topic is adressed to Apple - its really so difficult to create an option for external backup for phone? And its quite logical stuff since iPhone storages expanded significally... !

Thanks. Btw trying to hack a bit with Gemini help by editing some of Finder and MobileSync preference files. Have to find time for that soon and will write here as it goes! Time machine full backup before of course is mandatory :)

Hacking Time Machine backup system is a Bad Idea™.
You need the backup system to be as solid as a rock.
