iPad Pro 11-inch (3rd Gen) screen stays black with backlight after updating to iPadOS 18.5
After updating my iPad Pro 11-inch (3rd generation) to iPadOS 18.5, I’ve been experiencing a serious display issue. The screen remains black but the backlight is on — no content is visible. This usually happens after the device has been idle for a while, or first thing in the morning after waking up.
Sometimes, repeatedly pressing the power button to turn the screen off and on again will eventually make the display work normally. When the screen is black, touch still works, Siri responds as expected, and I can hear sounds. If I randomly swipe and tap on the screen and then it lights up correctly, I can see that the touches had actually registered — apps may have opened or menus appeared.
I’m posting this to ask if anyone else is experiencing a similar issue. I’d really appreciate any advice or shared experience that might help solve this.
Also, I’ve noticed another problem: the VoiceOver feature no longer allows me to change the speech rate or voice settings.
Thanks in advance!
