How do I stop getting strange notifications on my iPhone?

While visiting one website, I received a notification "Your iPhone has been hacked. A hacker is tracking all your actions on the device. Immediate action is required!". The only option offered was to "close" the notification. It is possible that the site popped up an offer to solve the problem, but I closed the site in a panic. Please tell me what to do. I am terrified of hacking and am very worried now.

That's a scam. You did the right thing and closed the notification. Not only can your NOT be hacked, but no website could possibly see or know you've been hacked. I'd avoid whatever website you visited going forward. They are paid by these scammers to try to scare you into buying software/services/tools for an issue you don't have, nor one you could have.

You're welcome. Keep in mind it's VERY VERY VERY difficult to hack an iPhone and EXTREMELY expensive to boot. The only people who need to be concerned are high level government officials, heads of state, CEO's of multi-billion dollar corporations. If you're not someone at that level, you have nothing to be concerned about.
