US iPhone 14 Pro Max LL/A is eSIM only. No SIM.

AFAIK, iPhone 14 Pro Max LL/A is US and PR only.

Serial numbers are not useful for detecting counterfeits.

Unless you purchased it directly from Apple or an authorized Apple reseller the odds of it being counterfeit or stolen are very high. If you purchased it used from an unknown individual it could be stolen.

So from whom and from where did you obtain the iPhone?
