How can I fix 'Apple TV app isn't available right now' error?

My apple tv is displaying message "Apple TV app isn't available right now. " Check your internet connection and try again.

All other apps Max, Disney Netflix etc. ate working. Setting menu says software up to date and internet service working. Tried restarting unit, signing out of account and signing back in and unplugging unit. Message keeps returning. Been 3 days now since started having problem. Apple tv a little over a year old.

Any thoughts??

Instead of restarting your Apple TV try removing power (unplug it from the wall), wait 5 minutes, plug it back in and test. If that doesn’t fix it then...

You may have to resort to the nuclear option and reset to factory settings. It’s not as scary as it sounds. After the reset all your apps will redownload and all you have to do is login again to your various apps.
