ever since the update I can’t access my photos or microphone on any application specifically my instagram it'll say to go to settings to turn on access but it won't even show me the option too I've reseted my privacy i’ve checked my screen time but nothing please help me fix this.

I tried to make is as simple as possible for them, without a lot of words, which might cause confustion. Your suggestion to check Screen Time as well is a good one.

Open the Settings App. Tap Privacy & Security > Photos - look for each app you want to give access to photos and turn on. Do the same for Microphone.
On my Phone when I tap Photos in Privacy Restrictions every 3rd party app I have installed on my phone is listed there where I can tap on the app name to grant access to Photos. The same for Microphone. What happens when you tap Photos on that page?
That's good. You're not on the beta release. Why you can't grant camera and microphone access is a mystery, then. It's not because of iOS 18.5.
Is your iPhone managed under Mobile Device Management software provided by an employer or school, by chance?

There shouldn't be an issue with iOS 18.5. I'm on iOS 18.5. But your settings screen, even if I use dark mode, doesn't look like my settings. The icons are different, hence why you were asked if you updated to the Beta release of iOS 26?
Can you confirm your iOS version??

I redownloaded the app yesterday and that didn’t work I checked the restrictions and they are all on allowed everything you guys are telling me to do is in order so I don’t understand why it’s not working

OK. You had lost me, but I see what you're saying. I get confused when dark mode is used on someone's phone. And if that is where they are, I also see that Instagram for example doesn't appear there. To be honest, I have no clue why. It's certainly there on my phone.

nope idk what happened but my phone is now working I’m able to use both photos and microphone on any application I’m happy it’s fixed but I do wonder why it happened but thank you to everyone for trying to help!
