In macOS 15.4 I was able to restore open finder windows by restoring contents from ~/Library/Saved Application State/com.apple.finder.savedState/
But in macOS 15.5 the folder is completely missing?
Where are the finder windows now stored?

Independent of your question...
what is the issue exactly and what are you trying to accomplish, may be a better angle(?)
If it is a Finder issue and you suspect corruption, delete the plist copy and paste:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist
relaunch your Finder from the >Force Quit>Finder>Relaunch and compare your results.
Do you remember the name of the folder or any of its files? If so you can just do a Spotlight search for it.
Well, for the future, if you realize you inadvertently closed a folder right away, you can reopen it by choosing it from Finder > Go > Recent Folders…

I have no finder issue, I just accidentally closed one of my always open finder windows and don't remember the location of the folder or the contents.
I know. I also restored ~/Library/Preferences /com.apple.finder.plist to get back the recent folders, but there was nothing I was looking for.
Therefore, I now think it was a folder I used the search field and had the results listed.
I think I remember now. ;-)
Unfortunately, I can no longer remember this. I always have several Finder windows open for "I'll deal with it later...". And one of the finder windows got closed.
Good. :) FWIW, I still have a '~/Library/Saved Application State' folder but it's empty.
