Original Title: My left airbud is not working and the service centre people said its due to corrosion and my pods are out of warranty.

What's corroded? The left AirPod or the contact area in the case?

If the left AirPod have you tried polishing the contact at the bottom of the AirPod? I often have to polish mine as I get finger oil on it and it doesn't make good contact with the cast.
