How to Downgrade iOS 26 to 18

No, it’s not. I accidentally updated as well. I woke up 7 am this morning in December? Dark mornings picked up the phone so there was a red dot and I did the same and now I wish I hadn’t.. because it’s draining my battery my phone is relatively new.

It's completely normal for the battery to drain faster for a couple days immediately after an iOS update. Your phone has to work hard to reindex the millions upon millions of bytes of data. Give it a couple days for the indexing to complete.

Review the information provided by Apple here that would apply if you just updated this morning and will have another 3-5 days before you can make any judgements. You should be experiencing battery drain, lag in the UI, and the device will be warmer than normal during that time.

Apple should do better! Don’t release something unless it works! I have blocked the upgrade on all my other devices.

Obviously, Apple should have listened to you and made sure that everything conformed to your preferences! It is terrible that they didn't do that! You should let them know:

Sorry, you are wrong. As you can see that is for when you have installed Beta software and that will not work with the latest signed release of iOS 26, which is currently iOS 26.2.

You don't like iOS 26? Sure, fine. Preferences are personal. What is objectively true is that ios 26 has so many problems that having it running on my 13 mini is *painful*. Things as simple as TYPING do not work properly.

You won't allow to just downgrade? Also fine. But at least keep iOS 18.7 signed, leaving one final option to go back to a version that actually works, even though with a reset. I couldn't care less for the shiny items if I literally can't use my phone properly. Either this gets fixed in the next months or it will be the time I have to switch to another brand.

Planned obsolescence this obvious is just shameful. The fact they didn't even allow to install 18.7 to force upgrading to 26 is shameful. Hope enough people switch brands they make something about it.

I do not think it is possible, but I would certainly like to downgrade. I really dislike this new system. Almost makes me want to leave Apple altogether. I may have a copy of earlier system on an external drive.. If I replaced this computer on sys. 26 would it be possible to get the older system back if it is on that external hard drive?
