Thank you for clarifying. In that case, when you are Airdropped the Contact and it appears on your screen, you would need to tap in the bottom menu “Create New Contact”. This way it will be added to your contacts list instead of just a preview.

Did you select Create New Contact when the contact was Airdropped to you? If you didn’t, the contact would only show up and then dismiss and not add it to your contacts list.
