iPhone will not play any video content (youtube, netflix, my own recordings) unless im connected to my airpods or in the middle of a phone call.

I have restarted, reset my settings, factory reset my phone and nothing will fix it. Videos will load and a can scroll through them manually but they will just not play. But if my AirPods are connected or if I pick up a call then the video will play like normal. As soon as I disconnect the AirPods or hand up the call the video stops playing and will not continue. The only reason I discovered the phone call bit was because I was on a call with Apple tech and all my videos played! We thought we had fixed it but when I got off the phone. It went back to not playing videos. I have an iPhone 16, iOS 18.5. Help!!?

iPhone 16, iOS 18

"Okay, had to reset my AirPods and they paired back to my phone. Still having the same issue with videos not playing."

Speakers Working on iPhone:

A. App GUIs:

Apps like Apple Music or and Safari allow you to change audio outputs from within their GUIs.

B. Activate Mono Audio:

Ding this confines left and right audio channels to be single channel.

  1. Go to: Settings:
  2. Tap: Accessibility
  3. Scroll to: Hearing
  4. Toggle Od: Mono Audio
