Unknown device always attached to my Bluetooth regardless of what I do

I’ve been having issues when attempting to use Bluetooth. It started about a week ago. I believe the culprit is a neighbor’s new smart tv constantly searching  or connecting on its own to my Bluetooth when it’s on.

I disconnected it from my tv only for it to return and now it’s on my phone, or appears to be. It’s hard to tell what’s exactly what, Having reset my settings, and phone the name is still there and I do not have any other devices I use except my earbuds and phone.i rarely use the tv as it is yet it popped up there too.

This name by someone that is not me but likely some purposely named Bluetooth device nearby. How can I tell if it’s actually connected to my iPhone? It looks as if it is but might just mean it’s nearby.

I  believe it’s likely the searching devices nearby being why it is always there. I’ve lived here ten years and only once had an unknown device been connected to my Bluetooth in my home that wasn’t a device of mine. I disconnected, forgot it and reset the phone and it went away.

I have done all the usual stuff as it’s a privacy concern and a new one. I even updated my older modem this morning as I was told naturally is a good idea if outdated a tad.

After the tech finished we both saw it was strangely  still there. So is it not connected to my phone at all and just always pops up because it’s nearby, or is someone somehow still using my Bluetooth on my network?

The tech figured it likely had to be the discovering Bluetooth stuff we all have but I only have a name pop up on my phone if out and about when walking and never in my home by that one brief  time a few years ago.

I hope someone can help me as I’m afraid to use it anymore as that **** name is always present which never occurred before. It had to be that new tv but is it intentional, or the dusk Bluetooth searching issue.

Would greatly appreciate  any insights. I have attached a screenshot of my Bluetooth not connected as I’m not listening to music currently l, where the unknown device of V-8 always appears as is the case here. Looks like it’s mush searching but why would no other devices over the 10 years I’ve been here besides the one brief blip always be there? It’s only why I ask as it never happens in my home. Thanks.

The "Other devices" section just shows devices nearby set to pairing mode or discoverable mode. Not devices that are actually connected. It's how you find and pair new devices.

It may not have happened before, because either there were no devices near enough to your iPhone to show up, or none were in paring or discoverable mode when you accessed that screen.

The V8 device there is just one that happens to be nearby and is available for pairing or connecting, it is not in any way connected to your iPhone.

The one that shows as connected is the BusyConductingAir device, but I assume you do know what that is.
