I just took my phone out of my pocket and it is cracked all over like a spider web. I have not dropped it lately and have a "genuine Apple" case on it. Is this a known issue with this phone? I guess I put too much faith in the "new" screen and Apple's phone case design.

We honestly see extremely few reports of iPhone 16 Pro Max screens cracking here. Personally, I would not keep an iPhone in a pocket, where it can be stressed when sitting. Something clearly stressed the screen. If you wisely paid for an AppleCare+ plan when you purchased the phone, it can be replaced for $29. If you didn't, it's going to cost $379.

That hasn’t happened on my iPhone 16 Pro Max, and it likely isn’t a known issue as Apple did not release a Service Program for it. Did you not have a screen protector? You should’ve had one as it’s always better to be safe than sorry.
