Several sudden shutdowns on new iMac

My new iMac had several sudden shutdowns in the last 30 minutes.
Just normal use, open were mail, safari temp. monitor.
Here is a picture of the log just before crashing.

Hope someone can make out something.

In Utilities>Console (which is where you found the logs you posted) Database searches>All messages. If you click the triangles, called disclosure triangles, you will see a number of different logs.

It's also possible this may not open for you if you are not running as admin. If you go to Accounts in System Preferences, see if "Allow user to administer this computer" is checked or not.

I can't find anything on shutdown cause -128. I believe that usually the higher numbers indicate a malfunction of some kind. Since it's very new, I'd definitely bring it in and have it looked at. This is not right. In the meantime, what you might want to do is run the Apple Hardware Test in Extended and see if any errors are reported. Be sure to disconnect all peripherals except the keyboard and mouse.

Even if nothing is reported, bring it in.

peter --

It looks like there's a "Missing Sync Listener" start up that fails.
Why do you have that on there?

Then Intego fires up (Why do you have that on there?)

Then "PLeaseSleep" comes on and is disabled.
(This app may not be compatible with Snow Leopard. Officially, it goes to 10.5)

Then Skype fails, and it goes nuts when the Temp monitor comes on.
I would take that out for now.

Look here, OK?
Apple icon (upper right corner) click to System Preferences, then down to Accounts > Your Account.
What is in the Log In items there?

Hi Bee,
Missing Sync and Skype came over via Migrate ***. from my MBP. Sync I am not using anymore and Skype will be in the near future.
Integeo is from Virus barrier 6, for most die hard mac fans this will be an app.
Please Sleep I am using (though not right now) for my problems with the iMac not willing to go into autosleep mode. With Pls Sleep set it will do so. I have written a post/replied on this matter some where in tis forum.
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12164365#12164365
My login apps are: Eye TV Helper ; Skype; Mail; Please Sleep; Temperature Monitor;and Virus Barrier 6.

hope this helps.

Ok, I think for starters it would be good to delete Missing Sync and Skype for now.

Login items that can be disabled at Start Up:

1. Select Mail in the Login items, and press the minus key.
You may have to put in your Admin password.
(If your Mac was constantly looking for mail, it might have sleep problems.)

2. Also, disable the the PleaseSleep & Temp Monitor in the login items. (Select & press minus button)

That would leave on Eye TV Helper & Intego set to start up at log in.
Try that for a while and report back.

Ok ,
I have done what you suggested.
Now we will see what happens. But as I have written earlier I have had no shutdown problems for 12 hours. How long do I have to wait till it is safe to say that the shutdown problems are over?
I doubt that this will contribute the the autosleep solution, while I have tried so many things before ( read the concerning post) like new account with no login items at all and starting up in safe mode.
I had contact with Apple Care on this.
