That location is where the camera (green) and microphone (orange) activity is shown, and yours is erroneously still showing the black dot with no indicator.

A restart should clear it.

If you’re not running iOS 18.5, update.

Learn the meaning of the iPhone status icons - Apple Support (which doesn’t list this particular case.)
