Unfortunately, you can’t downgrade an iPhone to iOS 18.5 once it’s been updated to iOS 26.
Apple only allows installing versions of iOS that are still being signed — and older versions like iOS 18.5 are no longer signed by Apple’s servers. That means even if you have an IPSW file, the installation will fail because the signature check won’t pass.
If iOS 26 feels unsatisfactory, the best thing you can do is:
Once Apple stops signing iOS 26 and releases a new version (like iOS 26.1), you can only move forward, not back.
If you just want your phone to feel faster or more stable again, a clean restore from backup usually helps a lot!

I’d pay $100 to upgrade to iOS 18 right now. I did not need or want this iOS 26 change. I have yet to find a feature that is better for me.
I hate everything about iOS 26! This might be my tipping point to get a different brand. Apple isn’t as good as it used to be.
This is a user to user forum, no one here cares how you spend your money. But I suggest you visit Android forums before you make a jump you might regret.
I want to downgrade from 26.0 back to 18.6 (or current program before 26.0), as 26.0 is a terrible look and hard to see icons.
Just curious, why hasn't this thread (and the others like it) been locked by now? It's clear downgrading was only an option during the beta test period. Honest question.

I assume you have realized after reading the posts here that it is not going to happen. There has never been a downgrade option for any of the OS versions released. That does not apply specifically to Apple either, as it also has not been supported on Android phones. Those that tried have ended up with a bricked phone where the solution is to buy a new phone.
