I had a blue lozenge appear on my iPad a few weeks ago with a white circle and an upward arrow in it. It sat there and did nothing then it disappeared for a few days. Today it is back again. What an earth is it for? I have the latest iPad Pro. Has not appeared on my iPhone.

Thank you. What an idiot I am for not thinking of pressing on it. It is The Weather Channel app which I recently downloaded. I know the tiny blue circle that comes up when I use the maps, but this one stayed on the screen for days (because I hadn’t closed the app) and it’s quite big and a different shape, although it does have the small circle in the middle of it. It was just puzzling me again, thanks.
No Problem. Also make sure you update the Weather Channel app. There is an update for it available today, and a previous update to the app contained a bug that continued to use your location even after quitting the app. This caused excessive battery drain for those users.
