iOS 26 won't be officially released until this fall. Public beta testing will likely begin in July, but one should never install beta software on their primary phone. The entire point of testing software is to uncover bugs, of which there are and will be many until a stable public release in the fall. If you can't afford to have things not work, like many apps which won't have been updated to iOS 26 such as banking apps, DON'T install beta software on your phone. If you do and you have ANY issues, you cannot get any help here.

We don't know when it will be available.

But.....Apple expects you to install the beta on a "spare" phone......not the phone that you use everyday.

if you need your iPhone to work reliably, or need third-party apps to work reliably, and need your iCloud data to be available and uncorrupted, might want to wait for the official iOS 26 release later this year.

If you have a spare iPhone and a spare Apple Account and want to experience the beta, enroll in the public beta as that becomes available in July.

Updating to IOS 26 developer beta requires a developer account. In the U.S., you need to be 13 before creating a developer account. It is free and after that, you will see the option for IOS 26.
