After resetting fitness calibration data on Apple Watch calorie tracking is showing incorrect data

Ever since I clicked on reset fitness calibration data, my calorie tracking is showing incorrect data. For example, I used to burn 500 calories in a treadmill brisk walk, 5.5kmph speed, 5 incline and avg heart rate of 132bps. Now it shows just 300 calories or less for 135bps! I walked outdoor for 20 mins and even ran for 20mins for atleast 6 times over the last week. I also unpaired and repaired the iPhone. Still no improvement in data. I checked online calculators and with my age, height and 135bps walk, avg calorie burn is around 700! So I know that the watch data is most certainly wrong.

Help me understand how the workout works. I thought a workout in a watch is independent of health app or backup data. Meaning after each workout we can see the time, avg heart rate, active and total calories. This is calculated independently by watch sensor. I feel after deleting calibration data, the sensors and trackers are incorrectly tracking my active calories in watch itself. What’s backup data got to do with it?
