Understanding Low Power Mode, Airplane Mode , and battery performance on iPad

should i use aeroplane mode and low power mode in ipad cuz u can still use wifi in aeroplane mode and i dont usually icloud backup so and is it normal to dropping 10% in one hour of yt streaming its my first time owning and ipad so got some questions

You might reasonably anticipate your iPad using 8-15% of available battery capacity per hour - this figure being dependent upon screen brightness and CPU/GPU load. As such, your observation of ~10% per hour is entirely within the range of expected battery usage.


Low Power mode simply shuts-down background activity - such as automatic refresh of idle Apps and email retrieval. This mode can be useful if working away from a source of power for extended periods. Gains may be marginal, but useful if you are trying to extend battery autonomy. Reducing screen brightness will save the most power.


Airplane mode, of itself, is not principally intended to be a battery-saver setting. Airplane mode is just a quick method of shutting off Cellular, WiFi and Bluetooth radios. Temporarily switching-off unused radios can extend battery autonomy.
