How can I ensure my default email is always used in the Mail app?

That's not the setting for the default account. That's the setting for the default app.

To set the default email account, go to Settings>Apps>Mail>Default Account. It's way down near the bottom.

For what it's worth, I understood exactly what you meant from the re-title.

I thought my settings were correct too! But then followed path settings-apps-mail and scrolled to bottom to “default account” under section “composing”. That worked! I was using the earlier default mail app which was wrong.

I hope you can figure out what’s going on in your situation!

Mine does this too! I want to auto use the account I share with my husband as my sending account. But it always sends from my personal Gmail unless I go in after drafting and change the sending account. It’s a big hassle since folks now send stuff to me instead of both of us!!

I thought I was following the correct steps to choose—but decided to check and used the additional info: it’s down near the bottom. I think I got it!!!!!! Thank you @idrisseabright!
