How do I switch off speech activation on Apple AirPods Pro 2nd Generation?

How do I switch off speech activation on Apple AirPods Pro 2nd Generation? I already have Voice Activation disabled under accessibility, but if I say anything while I'm listening to any media on my AirPods pros 2nd gen the volume automatically lowers itself, waiting for Siri Commands. The volume drops significantly if I even huff or sigh - which is incredibly annoying

How do I stop this?

That's not why it's lowering the volume.

Open Settings>AirPods Pro

Scroll down and turn off "Conversation Awareness".

It's not waiting for a command, it's lowering the volume so you can hear the person it thinks you're talking to.
