I have an iPhone X and would like to download several apps that require iOS 17.0 or later.
I currently have iOS 16.7.11 on my phone. Automatic updates are on, but it has not automatically updates rolls to iOS 17. How do I make my phone update to iOS 17?

Your phone does not support iOS 17 and the apps you are looking to download do not support your phone. It is the developer of the app that chooses what iOS version they want to support. Your only option to use those apps is to purchase a newer phone that the developer supports.

iOS 17 is discontinued and no longer available. But, even if it was available, the iPhone X would not be compatible with iOS 17 (or, iOS 18).
So, you are going to need a new phone capable of running iOS 18 and the next version, which will be iOS 26.
