How to clear old renamed files in shared folder to save space?

Hello everyone,

Looking into storage statistics with System Settings, I see 100GB of space just for Other Users & Shared.

I did have another user at one point, but I have since removed that user. The only remaining other user is Guest, which no one has ever utilized.

Looking at the MacIntosh HD->Users, I see the Guest folder having a red - sign on the folder icon. What does that mean exactly?

Looking at the MacIntosh HD->Users->Shared folder, I see many Previously Relocated Items folders. Can I delete those to free up some needed space on my disk?

Many thanks for any insight,

-Ron

that all seems normal..

Yes you can delete the Previously Relocated Items folders if there is nothing you need.

don't expect to save a lot of disk space for your efforts...

I would concentrate on your "user home folder" if you are trying to do some house cleaning— typically found in your Finder sidebar for easy access.
