My MacOS widget function is not working, although there's is an widget option

I'm using the latest MacOS version in my Macbook 13 M1.

It's supposed to have the widget function, but when I click on the "Edit Widgets" when right clicking the desktop, nothing happened. My notification center also does not have any "edit widget" functions, and when I clicked on the date on the top right corner, nothing showed, let alone the edit widget button. Swiping to the left does not solve it too.

I tried every way possible, from restarting my mac, checking the settings options, to even forcing the notification center to shut down on the Activity Monitor but it does not take the sting away. As long as I recalled, the notification center - on default, supposed to show some sorts of widget, such as stock exchange or date, but it has been like this for a while - nothing happened when I upgraded my software to higher MacOS version. I'm very frustrated and do not know how to solve this.

Old issue, new issue, what changed?

Starting with macOS Sonoma, you can personalize your desktop with widgets, interact with them with just a click, and even use widgets from your iPhone.

See if this is it—To add widgets to your Mac desktop in macOS, you can right-click (or Control-click) on the desktop and select "Edit Widgets." Then, drag widgets from the widget gallery to your desktop or click the "+" button to add.
