Unable to use new window tiling features effectively on MacBook Pro running macOS Sequoia

My Macbook Pro is running MacOS Sequioa 15.5.

The new window tiling features are handy (was previously having to use third party apps for this), however I'm having trouble getting it to work effectively.

My second monitor is a vertical 16x9 4k display, and there seems to be no way to snap windows to the top or bottom half of the screen. Even though this display is set vertical, it still wants to snap to the sides which results in a super skinny, unusable tile, or to snap fullscreen.

Is this just a lack of features in MacOS window tiling?

Does it work if you hold the pointer over the green button in the upper-left corner of a window. They’re also shown next to the menu items you see when you choose Window > Move & Resize (or Window > Full Screen Tile) from the menu bar at the top of the screen.

Yes this works but to be honest, I'd rather disable native tiling entirely and go back to Rectangle as opposed to hovering over a tiny green dot every time!

Do the keyboard shortcuts for Window > Move & Resize do what you want?

It's interesting that you brought this up. The keyboard shortcuts in Windows > Move & Resize are different than the ones in System Settings > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts… > Windows > Halves.

Just tested these and yes they do, however the Logitech MX Keys keyboard I'm using doesn't have the 'Globe' key required to use these shortcuts. It has an FN key but this doesn't work. I guess I could remap these shortcuts..
