Give it 5 days after the update. The time it takes also depends on the size of your photo library, where you are having object detection models running in the background. This also generates heat which is normal.

If you still experience a problem then do a Force Restart. This will solve any problem with a stuck process running or cache corruption. It may take a couple of attempts to get the speed and sequence of the key presses correct.

  • Press and quickly release Volume Up
  • Press and quickly release Volume Down
  • Press and HOLD Side button .until the Apple Logo appears. Ignore anything else on the screen while holding the side button and it could take up to 15 seconds before you see the Apple Logo. If the Apple Logo does not come up, try again.

And finally, after that, post the screenshot of your battery graph including the top 5 apps consuming your battery with the selection on the last 24 hours at Settings > Battery. Yes, some apps have been identified as power hungry and other times an app update introduces a bug that causes poor battery performance. This just happened last week with the Weather Channel app where an app update was draining the battery and fixed later in the week with the developer releasing another update.
